Our Story
SSHT previously known as the Summer School of Medical Imaging has been an ongoing project for 10 years with more than 100 graduated students.
The program has shown great success in offering one of the very few places where students can indulge deeply in research at such an early stage of their education.
In addition, to providing value to city of Thunder Bay by retaining student research talent in the region and promoting Northwestern Ontario as place of opportunity for future research scientists, medical professionals, and science entrepreneurs.
Mission
Develop unique summer research opportunities for undergraduate and high school students to introduce research at an early stage of their education and to learn about innovative new technology by conducting hands-on research and attending informative seminars that feature interdisciplinary topics on the field of health technologies.
Program Goals

Support and guide students as they explore different areas of Health Technologies adjacent to their primary research fields and expand their scientific backgrounds.

Offer a unique opportunity for students to learn how to bring promising technology to the point where it can fulfill its innovation potential and bridge the gap between academia and the Health Technologies Industry.

Give an insight into research and technology to prospective graduate students and attract students from other provinces for their potential research careers in Thunder Bay.
